COMING BACK TO THE HEART OF WORSHIP

Today four different ministers came to school to watch the children enjoying worshiping God in assembly and then to visit them in their classes and find out what they had been covering in RE during the year. We had a lovely time of fellowship together.Indeed, the whole morning was taken up with praise and worship really. How blessed we are to be able to do this in our school and just to watch our little ones taking part in the lively worship songs fills me with so much happiness.
I'm conscious too, that in our churches we must engage in the spirit of worship right from the very start of each service.Everything which happens must lead us and prepare our hearts for the spoken word which is yet to come. So never underestimate the place our worship songs should have in our services. They must be chosen carefully and we should be able to truly "get lost in worship".It does not matter if we sing two more choruses if we feel lead to, it matters that "The Holy Spirit" is able to work.
I remember the words of a little chorus I learnt as a child--"The praises go up and the blessings come down....."
