LIVING WITHOUT DESIGNER LABELS

I happened to tune in to a programme this evening called "Living without designer labels". This must be the latest in the trend of reality programmes to hit our screens. It followed a family for a certain length of time as they tried to cope without certain cars, clothes, jewels and so on. I was saddened by the family's reaction, as their possessions were boxed up, only to be replaced by cheaper brands. The father said he felt cheap and worthless as he was forced to "dress down". The mother refused to wear cheaper brands of make-up and even the son didn't want to be seen out without his armani shoes ( and he was only about eleven or twelve years old).
I switched the television off and went out for a walk, wondering what the world was coming to.
People are so taken in nowadays by having to look right and "power dress", it seems to give them their confidence. I feel blessed tonight to know for certain that-
"Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at our hearts".
Let's find our confidence in God!
